Safety Tips for a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle

During times like these, it has never been more important to implement and maintain best practices for staying safe and clean - while stuck at home or when forced to go outside to restock on groceries. Here are some everyday steps that you can take right now in order to mitigate the situation and keep yourself away from the hospital:

  1. Wash your hands OFTEN with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Regularly washing your bare hands offer more protection than wearing rubber gloves.
  2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands. Cover your mouth and nose if you cough or sneeze with the inside of your elbow or tissue.
  3. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, computers, phones, keyboards, sinks, toilets, faucets, and countertops.
  4. Try to go cashless and use credit cards and digital modes of payment as much as possible. One piece of currency goes through thousands of hands.
  5. When in public places like the grocery store, stay at least 6 feet away from others. After arriving home, disinfect all food packaging with wipes and wash produce thoroughly for at least 20 seconds.
